What in the heck is WRONG WITH ME???

im 26 years old. i have been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. i am now on my 4th period since may 16th. i had a period that lasted may 16 - 22, another one that started on may 30th lasting through june 4th, then another period june 16th - june 30th, and now on july 5th i am on a FOURTH period. these periods are like 8 days apart! its so weird! does my body have no concept of time? i've never had normal regular periods anyways, but also NEVER experienced this EITHER! i seriously hope someone out there can help me!

I don't have PCOS but I was misdiagnosed with it once. I had a REALLY longggggg period. It was 23 days. Inbetween it would stop for a day and spot for a few more and then more blood. The way you describe the break in time of your cycles reminded me of that.

PCOS runs in my family. I didn't even know such a thing was "genetic". My cousin had surgery for hers recently. They "kill" the part of your ovary that's making too much hormones. The procedure's been working ok for her thus far.

You're 26, I don't know if you want to have kids or anything like that but get it treated ASAP. My cousin is 25 and her OB told her is she had waited a while to treated it, she may have been infertile. But time will tell.

i dont know the meaning of the diagnosis but, my period used to be off the wall like that. at the time i was 15 so my mothere had me put on the birth control pill. It really regulated my cycles and i havent had that problem since.
You need to let your GYN know this is happening. Allowing it to continue will cause anemia due to the lose of iron. There are ways it can be regulated. Discuss your ooptions with your doctor.

Your hormones are out of whack. That is what causes the PCOS. Getting on birth control pills helps regulate your cycle. There is also surgery called ovarian drilling that might help. I had it done June 22. Basically, they drill holes into your ovaries and kill the parts that produce the excess hormones with an electric current.

Get it treated now. I wish I would've been treated earlier...we're struggling with infertility issues.

You should discuss your problems with your ob/gyn and/or endocrinologist.

you know what i had this in my younger days .I went to all kinds of specialist till my ex SIL carried me to one and I really didn't want to go but said oh what the H.Well we got there he sat me down and I told him that I had a period more than average I was bleeding like 20 some days out of the month.He took one look at me and said are you on Birth control and I said yes they keep changing it to this and that trying to get it right .Well he said stop taking it and your period will go back to normal and that some women aren't meant to take birth control pills .I stopped and sure enough the heavy periods stopped as well.So I don't know if your on BC or not but if you are take my advice some of us women weren't meant to take them so stop and go to natural family planning I did that for 9 years and it worked like a charm.

What if your period is one day late?

One day is nothing to be worried about. There are lots of reason a woman can miss a period, but don't worry about that yet. (Are/were you stressed? Have you started a new exercise plan or lost weight? Are you sick?)
You were probably stressed or your cycle is changing, one day is nothing to worry about.

I can see you are fairly responsible about this! Congratulations and don't worry. As far as I remember, it's way worse if you take it 4-6 hours later. Don't worry, there'll be no problem, but make sure you won't forget about it again in the future.
no big deal, just don't make a habit of it or your periods could become irregular.

What if you bleed during fingering?

it may bleed some if u got scratched or tore ur hymen, no it has nothing to do with having kids and will not prevent u from having any

Being penetrated by a finger will not effect your ability to have children.

What's happening is that you're probably tearing the skin of your vagina a little (the nails might be too long or you aren't well enough lubricated).

If it continues to happen however, I would recommend seeing a doctor to make sure everything is ok.
You could bleed because of a broken hymen, because of fingernail scratches, because of bumping your cervix, or because of a period starting. It won't affect your ability to have children at all. :)
if you bleed after that then somebody is being to rough
he probably cut you with his nail..or was too rough! no i don't think it will affect you from having kids but it could lead to an infection and turn serous
It could mean that your hymen has been broken.Or the fingernail was not properly trimmed and filed.That will not affect you having kids.

What if this happens?

When I start feeling excited from ( doing you know what) pee comes out. It's not yellow. It's clear. But I strongly believe it's pee because it comes out the uretha. Even if I use the bathroom before I touch, it still comes out. Is this normal? Can you come only through intercourse? Do you come everytime you have an orgasm?

If it's not normal most girls have some serious problems... lol.
No man don't worry about it. Its your natural juices flowing. A sign that your able to produce lubricant for if and when you do have intercourse. Can happen any time you feel a bit 'over excited' (commonly said: horny).
You don't necessarily come every time you have an orgasm. Well not if your a girl anyway. Men come every time, even if it's just a little drop.
You may me able to ejaculate. Female ejaculation is where you produce this clear fluid when you're orgasming. And believe me, it kind of feels like you're peeing but it's not coming out of your urethra. It's just that the spot is so close to your bladder, it feels similar. Do some research on female ejaculation to see if maybe that's it.

What if im 2 hrs late on my birth control pill is it bad?

2 hours is nothing, don't worry.
no...just take the pill as soon as you remember.
2 hours is fine. Dont worry, even if you are on a mini pill (given to women who are breastfeeding) it will still be ok.

Although I don't suggest you try...you can be up to 12 hours late and still be in the clear, so don't worry, 2 hours is fine. After 12 hours, it becomes a little less clear!

What if I used my tampon for over 8 hours?

ok this is regarding my cousin, yes she lives with me
last night she used her tampon and went to sleep, but forgot to set her alarm. This morning, she woke up late, and told me that she had over worn her tampon for 5 hours! I was shocked, yes 5 hours.
so she wore her tampon for 13 hours (she didn't sleep for that long tho, it's only after the shower)
And now she's shoked, and scared. She doesn't want to tell her parents, because she's afraid.
And now she's got ME scared, so does anyone know if anything bad's gonna happen? like TSS? or symptoms?

About the 'worst' that could happen from wearing a tampon too long is 'heavy leakage' ... a tampon should be changed every four or five hours for that reason ... and most women who wear them should take them out and wear a 'pad' to bed, because it is 'dangerous' to have a tampon in you for 24 hours up to 6 days in a row. The 'symptoms' of TSS are fever, flushing (red skin) and what looks like 'broken blood vessels' in the palms of the hands at the 'fattest part' ... but I'm going to say that the chances are VERY SLIM that your cousin is in any real 'danger' ... and also that she needs to be 'more aware' so she doesn't 'overwear' her tampons any more. The 'first time' may be okay, but if she gets into the 'bad habit' her chances of getting TSS will go UP dramatically.
she would know if she had TSS .. she would have a horrible fever, be puking, horrible pains etc.. if any of that happens then you should be worried, but until then dont' sweat it

The tampon box insert should have information about the symptoms of TSS.

Yes, it's not good to wear them for so long, but one time hopefully won't hurt. Just don't make it a habit.
This may not be much help.but I have done the same thing quite a few times for alot longer than 8 hours. I would just keep an eye out for any symptoms. But most likely she will be fine :)
yes you can get tss by wearing a tampon for too long, but to tell you the truth, it is very rare, and probably won't happen. if she starts to get flu like symptoms then she should talk to her doctor or parents, and tell them about the tampon and that she may have gotten it but more than likely she will be just fine.
aslong as she isn't having any of the TSS symptoms she should be fine (feeling sick, dizzyness, headaches etc)
maybe she should lay off tampons for a while though and its probably better to use towels instead of tampons at night!

First of all, she needs to take it out if she hasn't already.

Next, she needs to monitor herself. TSS is more possible now, but it doesn't mean that it will happen.

Just keep watching her temperature and how she's feeling ,and if she starts getting about her normal temperature, get her to the ER.
If you forget changing your tampons regularly like for more than 8 hours, then that's how you will get TSS. But, as for right now, you should not worry about it but if you feel unusual like having fever or body aches then maybe its about time to see your doctor for immediate treatment.
OK, a rule of thumb is every time you pee, change the tampon and again before you shower. I never wore tampons to bed, would use a pad . Many years ago there were tampons called Rely, that caused TSS, I wound up having endo problems and had a hyster at aged 28, partially due to using those tampons. I am not saying that a tampon will cause TSS or other problems, but they need to be used properly to prevent infection. If it is a very light day near the end, if you are not going to the beach, use a panty liner.
It should be fine...it probably happens to everyone now and then. Just keep an eye out for fever or other abnormal symptoms. It's not very likely that it will hurt anything.
I've slept for like 12 or 14 hours and not changed mine. It;s not a good idea, but TSS is rare. She would have already started getting symptoms, so I'd say she's fine. Just so you know the symptoms are:
sudden fever of 103 or higher, fainting or near fainting when standing up, dizziness, diarrhea, rash that looks like sunburn.

I suggest that you take it out as soon as possible to avoid any chance of TSS(Toxic Shock Syndrome). I read about this girl who left hers in for eleven hours and she contracted TSS. I even saw this picture of this girls hands peeling really bad because of TSS. To be honest, I've left mine in for almost twenty-four hours once and I got lucky enough not to contract TSS. Actually, TSS could take effect weather or not u wear ur tapon more than 2-4 hours. BUT, i really dont think there is anything to worry abou, just monitor her appetite and if she gets sick, not from the thought of wearing a tampon for 13 hrs , but sick in general. If she starts to throw-up, diarreah or anything like that, have her go see a doctor. BUT like i said, i really dont think there is anything to wory about. Just make sure next time she keeps her tampon in for a healthy amount of time so you can avoid symptoms of any kind.

Honey, she will be fine. If she get's sick then it's time to worry, but I have been in situations where I have worn it for A LONG time and never ever had any problems. It really isn't a big deal. Just read about TSS and learn the symptoms.

What if I missed my last non-hormone pills?

Im on birth control and I didnt take my last 7 pills known as sugar pills or non-hormonal is its going to affect the process since they have no hormones?

Absolutely not! Please dont worry - the sugar or inactive pills are just there to remind you to keep up the routine of taking a pill every morning - many people dont take these - as long as you take the active/hormone pill when its next due and didnt miss any pills before this 7 day break then you are completely covered! I am a pharmacist and am quite sure of this.

Nope, I usually don't take them at all. They are only there to keep you on schedule, so you can remember to start the next pack at the right time. Just make sure you begin the next pack on the right day and at the same time as your last pack.
No, but it is a thing of habit. To stop taking non active pills causes no problem.
The only thing they are for is a reminder.. They have no effect on your cycle. As long as you start your new pack after 7 days and no more, then you are good to go. ( I have been on the pill for 9 years and never take my "reminder" pills either.)

the sugar pills are only there as reminder pills so you wont forget when the real pills start back up you don't have to take them at all
They are just sugar or iron, they don't affect how your birth control works. They are just there to remind you to keep taking pills and make sure you start the active pills on the right day.

What if i have bad cramps but but am afraid to ask my mom to buy midol?

Don't be afraid. Maybe when you're around your mom in the house you can make that painful noise and hold your stomach and say "Stupid Crampssss" and maybe she'll go and buy you some Midol.

I assume that you are younger. Talk to your mom. My mom completely understood when I started having cramps. It could be from your period or something else, so talk to your mom. If that's not an option, talk to a friend's mom or family friend.
Why would you be afraid to ask your Mom to buy you Midol?
She likely had to go or still may be going through the same problem.
Open communication is always best I think.She may even have some good suggestions on how to cope with cramps.
If you are sure you can't talk to your Mom and ask her then ask for some money and go buy them yourself.
Well, it won't get better unless you speak up. I know these things can be embarassing but you have to realize that your mother went through the same thing and will understand. All us women know how uncomfortable those cramps can be. And once you talk to your mom %26 get the pain relievers, you will wish you would have done it sooner!
ask to go to the store by yourself with a friend or just slip it into the cart when you shopping with her and if she asks just simply state that you need it.
Do you have a heating pad or hot water bottle? These will work too. Do you have an older sister who could help? Maybe leaving your mom a note telling her you are embarrassed but need something to help with cramps would be an option for you. Talk to your mom. This is something that happens to everyone. I can't imagine my daughter not being able to ask me for midol. Is there an Aunt or Grandmother or counselor at school you could ask. Bottom line, if you can't deal with the pain you are going to have to talk to someone eventually.
How about a friend's mom that you are really close to? I understand some girls don't like talking about this type of stuff with their mom, but if you are just honest with her then everything will be fine. But if you can't talk to her, definately ask a friend or you can go out and buy it yourself if you have the money.
You have your reasons for not asking her, but if it's out of shyness, I suggest you reconsider asking her.
Ibuprofen often works good for easing menstrual cramps. If the cramps are really debilitating, ask your mom to set up a doctor's appointment for you. Your health is more important than being shy with your mom.
remember your mother has her period too!! just ask!

What helps you get over PMS symptons?

my sister has a friend that i dont' like at all. she's a little lying *****. only to add that she's my bf's ex step sister. any who, so she comes over last night, and my sister decides to take my bikini that i just washed out of the dryer and let "her" use it. and then they get in the jaccuzzi and stay in it for like an hour. well lo and behold , my bf tells me that his old step sister has mercer and that i need to wash my bikini now. i was pissed that she even wore it, but now i'm pissed because i don't want to catch mercer. so what precautions do i need to take. do we need to clean out the jacuzzi...etc

What is mercer??...and if you are concerned...throw out the old bikini and buy a new one. About the jacuzzi...as long as you properly chlorinate it...nothing is going to survive for very long.

All your self seteem is taking away from you..You make yourself angry because you know there is something wrong, but don't know how to fix it..You see the DR and many times they give you something that they don't realize themselves if it is going to make you better or worse.what they give you is medication that is to help stress--as they call it anxiety--well in my research all medications are not for everybody as everybody body is different so the worst place to seek help is at your DR... GO TO THE LIBRARY AND ASK FOR SELF MOTOVATION books and SELF HELP---borrow them take them home and read read read study and listen to what they are telling you..This is what I learnt--you are an individual and a very unique person---noone on this earth is the same as you..You are smart, intelligent, have enough common sense

What happens when your on ur period and u go swimming w/out wearing a tampon?

well during periods when u do go for swimming the bleeding stops for the duration of time your body is in contact with the water. If you did notice that when u do take a shower that you stop bleedin. So i would suggest you to wear a tampon to be on the safe side.

But i have personally experienced that while swimming the bleedin stops...wonders of a woman body

Yes it still comes out. And then everyone in the pool has to swim through it. You may want to sit out until your period is done or use a tampon.
yes. granted it might seem slower but just because you jump in water doesnt mean it stops. it just diffuses into the water. it is gross and unsanitary to other swimmers

Yes, it will come out just like when you're standing around with no tampon during a regular activity..if you do wanna swim while on your period itis best that you wear a tampon...no mess.
The blood may or may not leak out into the pool. Sometimes water stops your period from the presure on your body. But I would not be a good idea to not wear a tampon. Don't wear pads in the water because they will expand from water and mostly float out of your swim bottoms. Good luck!
It won't usually come out (possibly a couple drops in your bathing suit) because of the pressure in the water but if you won't be in the water for the entire time (exe if the pool is not at your house, you can't immediately change after swimming, or you want to sit on a deck and tan) wear a tampon or don't swim.
When you are fully submerged in water your period stops. But when you get in and out your period will start flowing again all over your bathing suit. Use a tampon!

You bleed, and you may have cramps, which feel like an aching in your lower abdomen. A couple of pain reliever usually help with the cramps. Your period can last from a few days to a week- it starts off heavy and gets lighter as it ends. My periods were irregular the first few years, but now I get them around the same time every month. Don't be scared- you get used to it. It's better to start off using pads until you know how your period works and how heavily you bleed. Then you can move to tampons. There are directions in the box or you can ask your mom or a friend who's been through it.

I hope I dont offend you but your mom or someone or you health teacher haven't sat you down to tell you about the whole period thing. But any when you do come on it. You'll have cramps and make sure you get you some pads or tampons (which ever one you prefer). An also know that you can have a baby once you start your period.

The pap smear is yucky. The doctor cranks you open with a piece of metal and swabs your cervix. I hate it, makes me feel like I'm being sodomized. It can make you bleed a little depending on when you had your period last, so wear or take a pad or liner with you for afterwards just in case.

Don't be nervous. The pap smear feels a little awkward. Basically the doctor uses a swab-like thing to gather some cells from your cervix. It only lasts a few seconds. The doctor will also examine your breasts to check for lumps or abnormalities. She/he will also check your ovaries (which is the weird part) by using her/his hand. The first time is awkward, but going to the doctor and spotting a possible problem early on is better than letting the nerves get to you. Good luck!

Don't take more than one. All though if you Miss ONE day it is ok to take the pill from that day as well. Taking 7 Pills at Once is harmful! To many hormones at one time! I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you must use another form of birth control..at the same time you are trying to get yourself back on schedule..go ahead and take the 2 missed BC pills at the same time then continue taking 1 tablet every day until they are gone.
But I highly advise you to use alternate means of birth control during this month and also the next month as well..because you are in danger of becoming pregnant....Good luck Jen.
well keep taking as directed. its takes a good 3 months for the pills to get in your system and make you less likely to become pregnant. also when you come off the pills, it takes a good 3 months before its out completly and furtile again.
If you miss a pill it is possible for you to get pregnant. But you shoudn't change pills. just keep going on like you normally would but you might want to have your man use a condom for a little longer. =)
You should always use other protection because the pill doesn't work 100% of the time or prevent STDs. But I suppose you know that. I use a different pill but on the packet it recommends that if you get out of the cycle even for a short time you should use other methods for two weeks.
It's better to be safe than sorry.

And if you are worried about your getting fat from milk cheese then choose skim milk and low fat cheese.

If your iron levels become alot lower, consider getting prescription pills to help you. My mom had very low iron and food often wasn't/isn't enough to build it back up. It takes longer to digest and break it down from a food form, and foods don't contain the types of doses someone needs when their iron is very low. My mom had to get 2 blood transfusions from losing blood (she had severe menstral issues) and thus losing lots of iron. Be careful and do your research. Well, I started on a swim team, and I slimmed down a lot. It really works your thighs and ***, and trust me, that's an issue for me.

Then I joined NJROTC, and I got PTed by my 1st sgt. Try doing crunches, six inches (where you lay on your back and lift your feet six inches up), Hello Dollies (like six inches, only you open and close your legs), and Flutter Kicks (six inches, and you lift each leg, kinda like running)

For me, it worked like a charm, and I have a flat stomach =)

Also, try substituting pop and soda for juice. I have a kidney condition and had to, and the weight melted off.

I am carried home..but I try to watch sport on the large television screen in the pub, as well as a few hard fought matches of darts ( I find finishing on a bullseye to be the most challenging on my biceps ) this also helps with my cardiovascular work out !
Buy 2kg weights each and follow instructions every day, skipping rope 2 times a day, go walking around your area everyday, dance to your favourite music in your home, eat fruits and vegetables, yogurt and drink blackcurrant juice,apple juice, orange juice and you can occassionally have a snack of chips but not every day try once a week. get yourself a dog and walk it. go swimming in a leisure centre.do star jumps to change your routine and even play basketball.
You have to raise your heart rate and not be afraid to sweat if you want to lose weight. I take an aerobic kickboxing class at my gym a couple times a week. You get your heartpumping cardio and toning all at once. I love it and it works.
